About Us

Who we are

BetterDog Canine Behavior Center is the first professional dog training facility that works with owners in training their dogs. We believe nothing matters as much to a dog as his relationship with his human.

What we do

We believe in the use of positive teaching methods and working with the dog’s natural drives instead of against them. This produces a dog that is happy, confident and a joy to live with.

About Our Trainers

Jojo Isonera

Jojo Isorena has been working with dogs since 2002, when he acquired his first dog, an Alaskan Malamute. In 2006, he attended the Triple Crown Academy for Professional Dog Trainers where he trained under top professionals and competitors in the field. Upon successfully completing the graduation requirements, Jojo received his certification as a Canine Training and Behavior Specialist. He returned to Manila and began working professionally as a vet-referred behavior counselor and trainer, servicing clients mostly in the expat community. In 2009 Jojo established BetterDog Canine Behavior Center, the first professional training facility in the Philippines that educates owners in building better relationships with their dogs through positive training methods.

Tina Isorena

When Tina found herself caring for an Alaskan malamute puppy she imported from Canada, it became readily apparent that looking after a giant double coated breed was going to be a serious endeavor. And since there weren’t any dog groomers she could turn to for help in Manila at at the time, she packed her bags for the states and enrolled in the prestigious New York School of Dog Grooming. There she got her hands wet, literally, working on dozens of different breeds, learning the intricacies of combing, brushing, bathing, clipping, and the proper care and maintenance of the great variety of coats. More importantly, Tina learned how a truly masterful groomer’s insights can be essential to a dog’s well-being. With each and every client that comes for her salon services at BetterDog, she shares the wisdom of her experience with the same amount of care she gives to her own personal dogs.
